Reaching School Board Members Guide This guide helps advocates convey their nutrition policy message effectively while at the same time helping school board members gain the information they need to create effective nutrition policies. Available in English and Spanish
School Health Index (Short-form) California Project LEAN has adapted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) School Health Index to an English- and Spanish-language short version that focuses only on nutrition, physical activity, and physical education and reflects California’s new (SB 12 & SB 965) nutrition standards. CDC’s original School Health Index addresses a number of health topics, including counseling, psychological and social services, and safety policies.
School Marketing Assessment Tool This tool assesses food and beverage advertising in schools. The results of this assessment will be useful to health professionals and educators who are concerned about children’s health and the types of food messages they are exposed to in schools.
